Sketch Frenzy Friday, Happy Thoughts

One of the reasons I subscribe to the monthly kit, My Paper Pumpkin, is that I noticed last year how often the stamps, paper & embellishments coordinate with SU!'s products from the Annual Catalog.  Two other reasons:  there are more items in the kit now and I love surprises in the mail.  Today's stamp set and die cuts are from the June 2015 P.P.  I love how they so beautifully coordinate with the Pretty Petals 6"x 6" DSP stacks!

Don't you just love that sentiment?  Very pretty font!  I am into lettering and even started my own lettering art journal, which I may share here one day.
No picture of the inside of the card, but I used Vanilla cardstock with torn strips of the paper added to the bottom.

Thank you, Kim Innis, for the sketch:
This week's sketch uses washi tape.  I don't have any washi tape from the current catalog, so I used the patterned paper instead.  It's very pretty, and now I think I need to buy up all the new washi!

By the way, Pinterest has all kinds of ideas about making alternative cards & items from P.P. kits.

Well, you can use washi from your stash or maybe those pretty DSP leftover strips to make a card inspired from today's sketch.  Add your creation to the bottom of the post on Sff blog.  I would love to see what you use for the strips!

Have a Blessed and Happy Weekend!

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Good Things

Hello, everyone!  Thanks for taking time from your July 4th celebrations to check out my blog.

Today's card is one I made for my sister, Paula.  Although we live several hours apart, we still lift each other up when having a bad day.  One of the ways is to remind each other that "something good is going to happen today."

The sentiments in the "You've Got This" stamp set remind me of Paula.
I really like the cursive lettering in this one, and I like that this sentiment also has great print to go with it.

How festive is this template?!  Thanks, Kim!

Inside:

Stampin' Up's new patterned paper is so beautiful!  You get a glimpse of what the 4 sides look like with my card.  Love the updated wording!

Supplies
Stamps - You've Got This
Ink - Pacific Point
Cardstock -  Pacific Point, Whisper White, Brights Color Collections DSP
Accessories - Large Polka Dot embossing folder, bitty butterfly and elegant butterfly punches, 1-3/4" and 2" circle punches, 3/8" white stitched ribbon

Now that you have a little holiday free time, why don't you use the above template as an inspiration for a card and add a link to the bottom of today's SFF blog post so we can all enjoy it?

Happy Independence Day!
Be safe with your celebrating :)

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Spread the Love

Do you love ice cream and cupcakes?  You bet, I do!  Yum!

And I also love the Cherry on Top paper stack - that's about ice cream and cupcakes!

I concentrated too much on that yummy paper, and now realize how very small my sentiment is.  Oh, well, I can easily replace that with another bigger stamped sentiment.  It's not unusual for me to go back and rework my cards.  Do you do that?  Or are you okay with leaving the card as is?

Here's my SFF sketch for this week:
I made this with My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!  Now it is no longer available.
Still, I am proud of myself for continuing to work on my digital card sketch making.

Supplies:
Stamps -  Sprinkles of Life
Cardstock - Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Cherry on Top DSP stack
Ink - Watermelon Wonder
Accessories - White baker's twine, Watermelon Wonder dotted lace trim, dimensionals

You can join us by adding your card using this week's sketch, on the SFF blog at the bottom of today's post.

Happy weekend!

Sketch Frenzy Friday, I Think You're Great!

Hi, everyone!
I received my new "SU! toys" in the mail!
As in - from the new 2015-16 Annual Catalog!
The new In Color Cucumber Crush is a pretty bright green, not the fluorescent green I imagined.  The In Color lace ribbon trim is stretchy and beautiful.  And finally,  DSP  that has donuts in it!

The I Think You're Great stamp set is one designed for the "kissing technique" -  solid background sentiments with two texture looking stamps to kiss with.  (I did no kissing on this card)

Thanks, Diana, for this great sketch!  I can see myself using it over and over again!

Supplies

Stamps - I Think You're Great
Cardstock - Basic Black, Cucumber Crush, Whisper White;  Cherry on Top DSP stack
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Cucumber Crush 1" dotted lace trim;  3/4", 1-3/4", 2" circle punches;  7/8", 2-3/8" scallop circle punches, dimensionals, tombow glue (for the lace trim)

Play along with us at Sketch Frenzy Friday by using this sketch for your card, and adding it to the bottom of today's SFF post!

Have a blessed day!

VC Rocks, Make and Take

"I Think You're Pretty Swell"
That statement and old cameras go together, reminding me of my childhood.

Supplies:

Stamps - Big On You
Ink -  Memento Tuxedo Black*
Cardstock - Whisper White. Basic Black, Flashback DSP
Accessories - 6-1/2" Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon

* I had just reinked my ink pad and didn't want to wait for it to soak in well, so when I stamped my sentiment there were little white patchy spots on the thick black line.  I decided that this gave my card a more vintage look.

  1.   Cut Whisper White cardstock to make the standard card of 5-1/2" x  4-1/4"
  2.   Cut Basic Black layer,  5-3/8" x 4-1/8";  using Stampin' Distress Tool, distress edges of layer.
  3.   Cut Flashback DSP layer to 5-1/4" x 4".
  4.   Stamp sentiment on blue layer of DSP; trim to 3-1/4" x 3-3/8", then carefully distress.
  5.   Punch star out of blue layer and adhere scrap piece behind it;  adhere to 3-3/8" x 3-1/2" basic   black distressed layer.
  6.   Tie each end of the ribbon, maneuvering the knots to the right place;  trim ends, adhere.
  7.   Layer sentiment over part of the ribbon and  adhere with dimensionals.
  8.   Step it up by black embossing the sentiment.

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Happy Graduation

Hi, everyone!  I'm glad you're visiting my blog!
Today's SFF sketch is from Elizabeth Harris:

Butterfly!
For some reason butterflies make me happy, so I am excited about this card:

Another graduation card; this time it's for my cousin's daughter, Paige.
The sentiment looks weird but it is cut straight and adhered to the middle of the butterfly.
The more I looked at the butterfly the less I want to put items on my card.
I mean a Butterfly can stand alone as the only thing on a card, right?
So I made my sentiment as skinny as I could.

Supplies:
Stamps - Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink - Mossy Meadow
Cardstock - Pear Pizzazz,  Adventure Bound DSP,   gold foil sheets,
gold fancy foil designer vellum
Accessories - Butterfly thinlets dies, dimensionals

Thanks for fluttering by my blog!

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Love You, Dude!

Hi everyone!  I made a masculine card for today.
Here's the sketch for this week:

I consider this masculine, even though it has sewing on it.

In this photo you can see the black embossing on the background better:

I used pieces from two different My Paper Pumpkin Kits, March 2015 and April 2015.
If you want to see more photos from these and other kits, search for "My Paper Pumpkin" on Pinterest!  Always great stuff on Pinterest!

Supplies:
Stamps - from April MPP Kit
Ink - Both MPP Kits, VersaMark
Cardstock - Pacific Point, Basic Black; DSP and other cardstock from both MPP Kits
Accessories - twine from both MPP Kits, 1" square punch for banners, black embossing powder, dimensionals

Now, I know you have leftover pieces from some project you did before.
I challenge you to use them up with this sketch, and add it to the bottom of today's post at the SFF blog.

Have a wonderful day!

VC Rocks! Make and Take

I made this Graduation card for my niece, Kellie.
I did have to redo my embossing on another piece of DSP.
You really can burn the paper with too much heat.  Lol!

Supplies:
Stamps - Adventure Awaits
Cardstock - Whisper White, Basic Black, Adventure Bound DSP
Ink - VersaMark
Accessories - White embossing powder, What's Up punch, dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, small scallop rotary cutting blade

1.  Cut Basic Black for the base of card, which is the standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".
2.  Emboss image using VersaMark Ink and White embossing powder.
3. Then trim DSP to 4-1/8" x 5-3/8", using the Stampin' Trimmer with the small scallop rotary cutting blade.  You may choose to trim first, then emboss.  Since I am prone to errors in measurement, I trimmed after I embossed.
4. Punch White cardstock using Whats Up punch.  Trim down the length of the smaller arrow and adhere with dimensionals.

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Celebrate Everything Eleanor

This week's sketch is from Patrice:

Continuing on with my sunny celebrating, I chose Daffodil Delight again.
I love how the Everything Eleanor flower stamps match the Park Lane DSP.
I am sure that Stampin' Up! had that in mind when they designed the DSP, but it took me nearly a year to figure it out.  I couldn't match a marker to the lighter yellow on the flowers, so I just left it alone and colored with the Daffodil marker on the inside.

Supplies:
Stamps - Everything Eleanor, Celebrate Today
Cardstock - Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Park Lane DSP
Ink - Soft Suede;  Daffodil Delight marker
Accessories - Daffodil 1/2" seam binding ribbon, Jewels basic pearls, dimensionals

Please join us! Use this sketch and add your card to the bottom of today's post on   Sketch Frenzy Friday blog.

Today, I was able to view the Stampin' Up!'s 2015-1016 Annual Catalog, which will be out in June.
I think my wish list is going to be a long one!
What to order first...

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Warm Sheltering Tree

It's been so warm and sunny this week,
so I made this card to reflect my mood!
Even the sketch Carol made is sunny and happy!
Thanks, Carol Read, for today's sketch:
Here's my card:

I had seen a card recently that had the sun's rays embossed on it.
When I pulled out my Sheltering Tree stamp set, I immediately thought of that card.
I used the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to emboss, mostly to make a straight line.

Here's a side view:

Supplies:
Stamps - Sheltering Tree
Cardstock - pistachio pudding, garden green, daffodil delight,  whispering white,
Gold Soiree DSP
Ink - pistachio pudding, garden green, baked brown sugar, early espresso, daffodil delight
Accessories - Simply scored diagonal plate, Brights candy dots

Make some time in your sunshiny day to try our sketch.  Add it to the bottom of the post on the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog.
Thanks for checking out my blog!

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Thinking of You Envelopes

Good morning!
This week's sketch is from Patrice:

On my card I used the photopolymer stamp set Lovely Amazing You.

Here's another look at the Gold Soiree DSP:

The DSP is so shiny I had to emboss my sentiment, instead of just stamping it.

Supplies:
Stamps - Lovely Amazing You, Sheltering Tree
Cardstock - Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White;  Gold Soiree DSP
Ink - Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Suede, Versamark
Accessories - Espresso embossing powder, dimensionals

Friday Frenzy Sketch, A Calm Sea

Hi and welcome to another sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday.
Terri Tank provided this cute sketch for us.  Thanks, Terri!

Here's the card I made:
I love the Adventure Bound DSP from the Occasions Catalog.  And the Adventure Awaits stamp set is so great with it.  I stamped everything using either Basic Gray or  Memento black ink, then came back and made shadows using the Stampin' Up! Chalk marker.  I love how the chalk really makes things pop off of the beautiful water background.
Here's another shot of the card:

Supplies:
Stamps - Adventure Awaits, Yee-Haw
Cardstock - Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay; Adventure Bound DSP
Ink - Basic Gray,  Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Stampin' Chalk Marker, Bermuda Bay 1/8" taffeta ribbon
I hope you will play along with us at SFF, using today's sketch.  Just add your card to the bottom of today's post using InLinkz.
Have a blessed day!

Sketch Frenzy Friday, A Friend Loveth

Hello!  It's another Friday!  YAY!
The weekend is here and I am looking forward to a road trip to my sister's.  It will be fun, especially since I pretend her grandkids are mine and spoil them!

Thanks, Stacey, for today's SFF sketch:

And here's my card:

I wanted to play around with our SAB DSP,  Irresistibly Yours.  It is a white paper with a glossy white pattern and is perfect for coloring using a variety of techniques.  Coloring the background reveals the glossy pattern.  I brayered on Garden Green and Calypso Coral ink.  Be sure to wipe the ink off of the glossy part right away when you are finished.
I also tried the technique where I use a circle framelit that is trimmed first on the edges that extend past the framelit.  It was easier than I thought.
Supplies
Stamps - Banner Blessings
Ink - Garden Green, Calypso Coral
Cardstock - Garden Green, Calypso Coral, White,  Irresistibly Yours and Gold Soiree DSP
Accessories - Circle Framelits (4th from center);  2"and 2-1/2" circle punches; brayer, regals candy dots
Measurements for panels - 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" (after bottom end is trimmed),
2-1/8" x 3-1/2" (green panel),  2-1/4" x 1-7/8"

Create a card using our SFF sketch and be sure to add it to the SFF Blog using the link at the bottom.
Have an awesome weekend!

Sketch Frenzy Friday, You Brighten My Day

Hello, stampers!  Not only is 2015, it's almost February!!
I better get started on those resolutions, huh?

Today's SFF sketch is from Jennifer Kay.  Thanks, Jennifer!

Here's what I stamped:
As you can tell, I stick pretty close to the sketch.  I try to make the sketch more mine, but going from an oval to a circle is not really creative.  I guess I need to get my confidence up again.

Although I love the Blackberry Bliss in color, it's a little too dark for my "bright" card.  Luckily, Rich Razzleberry is lighter and goes great with the Moonlight DSP.

I don't own the Banners framelits, so I usually just cut my banner ends by hand.  But I saw on the What's Up punch the arrow top is a great fit for those ends.  I punched my arrow top on the bottom of a piece of cardstock, then I trimmed the sides to make the pointy ends.  This way I could make the smaller banner skinnier by trimming the sides in more.  I find that I have used this punch more for banners than arrows.

Supplies:
Stamps - You Brighten My Day,  free! from Sale-a-bration pamplet
Ink - Rich Razzleberry;  Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss markers
Cardstock - Rich Razzleberry, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Moonlight DSP
Accessories - 1-1/4", 1-3/8", 1-3/4" and 2" circle punches, dimensionals
Have a Happy and Bright Day!

Sketch Frenzy Friday, BE(YOU)TIFUL

Hello, everyone!
I have missed stamping so much!
But you know that kids interrupt stamping schedules all the time!
Our 20yo DD, Mandy was in the hospital over the holidays.  We are back at home for 2 weeks and have nurses, OT and PT that come interrupt every day!  But Mandy has made much progress.  Since she is getting stronger, she is resisting them quite a bit. :))

Today's Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch is from Kim Innis.  It's a fun sketch to work with.

I made 2 cards, love them both and have to share them both.
I think a skinnier ribbon would be more in proportion with the smaller flowers.

And here is my pink one:
The background of that top strip of DSP is supposed to be white.  It was a cloudy day when I snapped my pictures.  Inside is the same as the blue except it's pink.  I stamped off the Corner Garden background stamp first before stamping it on the Strawberry Slush using the Strawberry ink.

Supplies:
Stamps - Petite Petals, Corner Garden
Cardstock - All Abloom DSP,  Island Indigo, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White and
Strawberry Slush, Blushing Bride
Ink - Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush
Accessories - Brights & Subtles candy dots, rhinestone jewels, Daffodil seam binding

Play along with me by adding your card based on this sketch to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog.

Grateful to be Stampin',
Elizabeth K.

SFF That I Missed Posting

I was so excited about getting my Sketch Frenzy Friday cards made ahead of the holidays.  Sadly, our 20yo DD was in the hospital for 3 weeks over the holidays, so these cards didn't make it to my blog.  So I will drop them in here.

Stamps - Groovy Love
Cardstock - Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Flashback DSP
Ink - Real Red, Pool Party
Accessories - 1 3/4", 2" circle punches, Brights candy dots

For 1-2-15:
Stamps - Yee Haw, Hardwood
Cardstock - Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso

Puppy Card

Hi!  Thanks for coming to my blog.  I hope you enjoy the card I made this week.  I used a non-SU! image to color and I colored the dog with Copics.  But SU! Blendabilities would work great with this too!!

I braided three strands of Baker's Twine - Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler & Bermuda Bay.  It took a while because the twine was on the thinner side.  I will never braid twine again, unless it is thicker!

SU! Supplies:
Stamp for sentiment - A Dozen Thoughts
Cardstock - Real Red, Whisper White, Soft Sky, (ret.) Storytime DSP
Ink - Real Red
Accessories -   Alphabet Press embossing folder, scalloped tag topper punch, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler & Bermuda Bay baker's twine

The design of the card is from one of the instructors of Online Copic Cardmaker's Class.
Copics:  E43, 44, 47; R00, 02,22; Y02, 15; 0-blending pen.
SU! Blendabilities I would use in place of these are Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight & Crumb Cake sets, Color Lifter marker.

Don't Worry, Be Happy - tomorrow is Friday!

Graduation Cards

Here are my 2014 Graduation cards:

Inks used are Garden Green and Smoky Slate. The base of the card is Smoky Slate cardstock.
I used the Basic Gray from retired Neutrals DSP and the Garden Green from the retiring Regals DSP.  The sentiment is from the retired Word Play stamp set.  I love to use this sentiment for grad cards.
Stars were punched from the previous silver glimmer paper.

I used the Operation Write Home Sketch 225 as inspiration.

Not being excited by the rounded corners on the card, for my next card I didn't round the corners.
I like this one much better.

On this card I used Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, and Gold cardstock.  Patterned paper is from the retired Brights DSP pack.  The stars are punched from Champagne glimmer paper.
