Precious Scrapbook Page

This is my baby picture!  My mom named it precious, because it was the picture she took to the hospital when I was 11 months old.  She went there to have my sister, Andie, and had to bring my picture because she didn't want to leave her baby girl at home!
I was the seventh child of nine and Mom stopped doing baby books with the fifth child.  This may be the reason I started scrapbooking, because I wanted my kids to have their own baby books with my memories in them.  Then I decided I should have a baby book too!

Color My World with a VC Rocks Blog Hop

I hope you are enjoying your VC Rocks blog hop today!
I chose to brayer ink on Whisper White cardstock.  Although I usually use lots of blues, I challenged myself to use some purples and oranges.  I like the results.

This is my first reflection card.  Using the smooth side of the stamp-a-majig sheet was easier than I thought.  The ship stamp, called The Open Sea, is from our Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog. The inks are Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

I brayered different oranges and blues on two pieces of Whisper White cardstock.  Once again I used The Open Sea stamp set to stamp images in Basic Black.  Using my 1 1/4" square punch, I punched out the "interesting" areas, then layered them on Basic Black and Marina Mist cardstock.  I used one piece of each of the baker's twine with the Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler threads for my knot.  The technique, By the Inch, is from the Technique Junkies Newsletter.

I didn't color anything on this card, but just look at the yummy colors in the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper!  Mmm!  Once again, I used The Open Sea stamps; this time, inked with Early Espresso.

Circles on Card & Page

VC Rocks has issued a circles challenge, so here is how I met the challenge.

Below is the journaling for this scrapbook page:
"Mandy keeps me laughing:
While playing in her 'little room,' she threw her cup
over her shoulder behind her and it landed in Dad's boot.
Then a few minutes later, she turned around and discovered
her cup in the boot.  She was very surprised,
excited and proud of herself."

I don't know how the Dr. Pepper got into that boot, but I have a real good guess that Mandy snuck into big brother's room, stole it, and dropped it in there.  She is a 16 yr. old physically, but will always be our 1 yr. old baby mentally.  We are blessed!
