Two More Valentine Cards

I haven't planned out our Christmas card, but  I made 2 more Valentine cards for our military.

I just love the deep embossing of our Stampin' Up! Big Shot embossing folders!
Have a happy day!

One Sheet Wonder Swap Cards

This past summer I was in a One Sheet Wonder Swap, where you repeatedly stamp a whole sheet of cardstock, in effect, creating your own patterned paper.  The sheet can then be cut into pieces and used in a variety of ways on cards.  So I started making Valentine Cards for our military people and used some of my sheets.    The last is my favorite.  Although I don't own the stamp set used for the background, I found the I Heart Hearts stamp set looked great with it.  I am anxious to get back to stamping and use up the other sheets.  Have a blessed day! My great niece and great nephew are so cute!

Here are pictures of Evie and Branigan.  They are a few months apart and remind me so much of their mom & dad (my niece & nephew) at that age.  They did get a little rough with the playing, but each gave as good as they got!

And they also harassed Mandy a little, but she figured it out quick that she had better defend herself!
So much fun to watch all the babies.  Well, you know, until they start crying....

Using up those scraps!

Everything except the card base and button were in my scrap pile!  I am proud of myself.  I love all of the Stampin' Up! embossing folders.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, yall!!

Just Believe in Blushing Bride

I needed just the right amount of blush!  As in Blushing Bride In Color!  This card uses more of the prizes I won in the VC Rocks! contest this summer:
In Color cardstock, DSP, and ribbon.

Just Believe Stamp Set

Hmm... I forgot which stamp I used for the Thanks sentiment.

This close up shows how I colored on the stamp.  I used Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride markers.  I then added a little of Regal Rose marker around the outside of the flowers.  I think this helps it to stand out more.
I hope you have a wonderful day!

French Foliage Love

I'm lovin' it!  French Foliage stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog is so pretty.  And I am not a leafy kind of person.  I love to make the collage background with this stamp set.

Peach Parfait! Yum!  I am so glad I won a VC Rocks! contest this summer.  The prize I received was several items in the new In Colors:  DSP, cardstock, and ribbons in all 5 colors!! Wow! And now I will definitely be buying these ribbons.

The heart and word love are rub-ons that are retired.  I tried punching out words to put over my "splatter circle," but I just wanted to see all those splatters.  Stampin' Up rub-ons are perfect for this.
I hope you like my creations.  Have a great day!

Christmas Postcard Challenge

I have challenged myself greatly with the Christmas Postcard stamp and the Deck the Halls DSP.  It's not really my style, but it is nice vintage Christmas, so I took the leap.  My coloring wasn't so great, so I decided to stamp it on the DSP and I really like the way it looks.  I am also seeing that crafters have embossed with this stamp, so I will try that next.

Have a blessed day!

Cards for our Military Men & Women

I've been busy making cards for our military men & women.  I love doing it!  Here are a few samples I sent to Operation Write Home and From Our Hearts.

It is so much fun and I use up so many left over pieces of Designer Series Papers, Simply Scrappin' Kits and retired embellishments.
But the best thing is thinking about a loved one receiving a card from some remote place and treasuring it.  I pray for those in our military and send prayers/blessings with each card I make.

Who needs a kitten?

Who needs a kitten when you have Mandy?!   She had alot of fun with my yarn today.

It did take me a few minutes to unwind the yarn.  I have no idea how many spins she made with the yarn, but it was alot.

Never a dull moment with her!!

Here are pictures of her head a week after her wheel chair flipped on its side on the school bus.  What do you think, will it heal on its own?

She is still cute after all! (yeah, huh, even some who aren't her mom said so!)

Forehead Reveal and Wedding Card

Now here's a gorgeous forehead! NOT!
But it is a cancer free forehead!!
It's been about 5 weeks since the skin graft.
I am looking forward to seeing it in about 2 months.
Oh, did you notice that her hair is growing back?  I still think the comb over is the way to go.
Mandy really didn't want to take a picture, but I guess she's learned that the sooner she takes these pictures, the sooner she can get away!

This is a wedding card I did for a swap.  I love all the shimmer paint and gold layered cardstock.

The inside.

Yesterday, I mailed off 190 cards.  (I thought it was 200, but I guess I carried an extra one to the tens place.)  All the cards went to Operation Write Home.  The whole time I am turning my many years'  worth of card fronts into cards, I am thinking of how happy a loved one back home will feel when their family member or friend who is in the service of our country sends them a little love with a fold in a middle.  That just cheered me up so much!  I am planning my next box, which will include Valentine/Love You cards.
Have a blessed day!  ek

VC Rocks August 2010 Swaps

 Here are two swaps:
A different kind of Christmas card.  I used Love Letters DSP and Perfect Punches.

This was Inspired by  page 120 in the catalog.  I love the Printed Petals stamp set and the new rhinestones and pearls!

Two cards I made for the card contest:

This is the one I entered, but didn't win.  My colors were a little too bright in this picture.  Real Red and Concord Grape look so elegant together with the Brushed Gold embossing and cardstock.

Have a blessed day!
