Make and Take: You're the Friend

Monochromatic Friend
Submitted to the VC Rocks! group

Supplies:
Stamps - Friendly Wishes
Ink - Lost Lagoon, Mint Macaron
Cardstock - Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Lost Lagoon
Accessories - Mint Macaron 1" Dotted Lace, dimensionals

1.  Cut cardstock:  Mint Macaron - 3-1/4"x 2-3/4" and 5-1/2"x 4-1/4" card base;  Lost Lagoon - 3"x 2-1/2" and 5-1/4"x 4";  Pool Party - 2-3/4"x 2-1/4" and 5"x 3-3/4"

2.  Stamp sentiment using Lost Lagoon ink.  Add the mat layers behind.

3.  Cut your lace ribbon ONLY after you have used it to frame the matted sentiment!  This gives you more room to make adjustments to your ribbon placement as you go around and after you finish.  Use snail tape runner on all sides of the back of the matted sentiment.  Starting in one corner, lay the lace down, carefully bunching it up in the corner to get the mitred look.  You may need to add more snail to the corner layers to keep them in place.  Go around the card finishing off in the corner where you can hide the beginning of the bottom layer.

4.  Stamp onto the Pool Party background with Mint Macaron ink.  Adhere to Lost Lagoon cardstock and then to Mint Macaron card base.

5.  Layer sentiment with dimensionals onto the stamped Pool Party.

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Happy Blooming Birthday

Here's today's SFF sketch from Kim Innis.  Thanks for a versatile sketch, Kim.

I turned my card sideways because I saw this great card with a popped up frame around the flowers.  I stamped everything first then used the framelits to die cut.  I added a hand cut flower over the sentiment.  I think you can see a little better in these photos.

It's a very easy card to make and I am sure I will be making more.  I already have ideas using different stamp sets for my next ones.

Supplies:
Stamps - Flower Patch
Cardstock - Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ink - Razzleberry, Lost Lagoon, Island Indigo, Hello Honey, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive,
Rose Red
Accessories - Labels Collection Framelits (oops! I now realize it's retired), Pearls, glue dots

I hope you have a great weekend with enough time to play around with your stamps and ink.  When you post your card using today's sketch, don't forget to add it to the bottom of today's post at the SFF blog.

Sketch Frenzy Friday, You're Great, Mint

I'm so surprised that I am really liking this new in color Mint Macaron.   I think it has a little more blue in the color and kind of reminds me of Pool Party.  So my card today is full of minty goodness.

See what I mean?  The  mint is pretty!
The Dijon in the background is just a background.  I left it on because the card was a little wonky in my picture.  But trust me, the Black card base makes the card so beautiful.

Today's sketch challenge is from  Jennifer Kay.  Thanks, Jennifer!  This is a fun sketch that I think I will use in the future by turning it on its side.

Supplies

Stamps - I Think You're Great
Cardstock - Whisper White, Basic Black,  Mint Macaron
Ink - Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron
Accessories - None, I couldn't think of an embellishment in any place that wouldn't detract from the card.  (If you can, please let me know in the comments.)

Take on today's sketch challenge and don't forget to
add a link to your post to today's SFF post.

Today's my last day teaching VBS!  So I look forward to a restful weekend.
I hope you have a restful weekend too.

Sketch Frenzy Friday, Spread the Love

Do you love ice cream and cupcakes?  You bet, I do!  Yum!

And I also love the Cherry on Top paper stack - that's about ice cream and cupcakes!

I concentrated too much on that yummy paper, and now realize how very small my sentiment is.  Oh, well, I can easily replace that with another bigger stamped sentiment.  It's not unusual for me to go back and rework my cards.  Do you do that?  Or are you okay with leaving the card as is?

Here's my SFF sketch for this week:
I made this with My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!  Now it is no longer available.
Still, I am proud of myself for continuing to work on my digital card sketch making.

Supplies:
Stamps -  Sprinkles of Life
Cardstock - Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Cherry on Top DSP stack
Ink - Watermelon Wonder
Accessories - White baker's twine, Watermelon Wonder dotted lace trim, dimensionals

You can join us by adding your card using this week's sketch, on the SFF blog at the bottom of today's post.

Happy weekend!
